This first night race in the history of the French FFSA Tourism Championship kept all its promises.
It didn't take long for the race to pick up at the front. The two L'Espace Bienvenue drivers, Ricardo van der Ende and Benjamin Lessennes, were neutralized when braking at the Mistral chicane. The Dutchman knew it, if he wanted to maintain his chances of the championship, he had to win the race. By stopping in the pits after the collision on the first lap, Ricardo van der Ende, who started on pole, lost all his chances.
This incident between the two BMW M2 CS Racing then directly benefited Florian Briché, just like Steven Palette, in ambush and well aware that the title was definitely in his grasp. The pilot of the Peugeot 308 RC n°24 of JSB Compétition thought it had done the hardest part, but that was without counting on a technical problem depriving it of its headlights in the last minutes. In a bad position a short distance from the finish, Florian Briché saw Viny Beltramelli dangerously return. The latter's efforts paid off at the finish line as the nose of the No. 10 Ropars Racing Peugeot crossed the line 3 thousandths of a second ahead of that of the No. 24.
Beltramelli therefore achieved a first success this season, under Briché's nose and beard. Despite the collision in the first round, the Belgian Benjamin Lessennes climbed to the third step of the podium.
The honors of the TCA 1 category, reserved for the Peugeot RCZ Racing Cup, went to Florent Grizaud (GPA Racing).
The start of the second race of this final round will be given this Sunday, at 15:40 p.m.
