Successful day for the Cyan Racing Lynk & Co team in Sochi. Yvan Muller took pole position in Russia while the championship leader, Yann Ehrlacher, set the fifth fastest time, allowing him to take an additional point in the general classification. “It was a great lap and an incredible qualifying session. It’s a good place to start from tomorrow to fight for the teams title and then hopefully we can also secure the drivers title for Yann,” declared the pole sitter. “We scored a point and we are in a good position for the races, that was the main thing for today. Let's keep pushing and focus on getting everything perfect for tomorrow.", added Ehrlacher, who now has a 37-point lead over his pursuer Frédéric Vervisch (Audi) before the last two races on Sunday where 50 points will be at stake.
