Sir 100%. This is what we can nickname Raffaele Marciello this season. In three qualifying sessions contested in the Sprint Cup this year (Brands Hatch, Magny-Cours and now Zandvoort), the Italian, who now races under the Swiss banner, has signed as many pole positions.
At Zandvoort this Sunday, Raffaele Marciello did not go into detail at the wheel of the Mercedes-AMG N°89 from AKKODIS ASP. Taking advantage of the coolness of the Dutch seaside resort, the driver of the French team imposed his law with a time of 1'32"093, more than a second faster than pole position for Charles Weerts (Audi R8 LMS GT3 EVO II No. 32) which had run in 1'33"145 the day before.
Back in the Sprint Cup this weekend, until the end of the season, Vincent Abril ranked 2e with the McLaren 720S GT3 No. 112 from JP Motorsport. The Habs, however, could not claim pole position since they finished almost 6 tenths behind Raffaele Marciello. Dennis Marschall in the No. 8 Attempto Racing Audi R3 LMS GT66 EVO II completed the Top 3, 0 from the lead.
