En monopolisant les trois marches du podium, Porsche a totalement dominé la catégorie GT lors des 24 Heures de Daytona qui ont vu la Riley-Ford du Michael Shank Racing s’imposer au classement général. « In my opinion, these 24 Hours were a sprint. The drivers at the front remained very close until the checkered flag. I'm glad we didn't encounter any technical issues. The teams and drivers did an excellent job in difficult conditions. Well done and well done », rejoiced Harmut Kristen, director of the motorsport branch of the Zuffenhausen manufacturer. Faced with a field made up of 45 cars, just in GT, including Audi, BMW and Mazda, the performance of the Lally-Lietz-Potter-Rast (Magnus Racing), Bertheau-Bleekemolen-Goossens-Henzler-Pumpelly (TRG) crews and Davis-Haywood-Keen-Lieb (Brumos Racing) is big.
