In a session marked by various red flags including the exit of Ayumu Iwasa (DAMS) at Stavelot, Ralph Boschung climbed to the top of the timesheet with a best lap in 2'01"376 . He was then ahead of the local Amaury Cordeel (VAR) by 6 small tenths.

Although restarted for the last 8 minutes, the session could not go to the end of the clock due to a new appearance of a red flag. This time, it was Pietro Fittipaldi (Charouz) and David Beckmann (VAR) who shot too wide at the La Source corner causing another neutralization while Dennis Hauger (Prema) was the victim of mechanical problems. With less than 4 minutes remaining, race management decided to end practice forcing the drivers to return to the pit lane.
