The two Carlin drivers set the two best times in the free practice session for the British Grand Prix in Formula 2 this Friday. As often since the start of the season, the Japanese Yuki tsunoda beat his Indian teammate Jehan Daruvala (+0 »4), also a member of the Junior Team Red Bull.
As is often the case when it comes to setting times on a fast lap, it is with UNI-Virtuosi Racing that Carlin shares the honors. Callum Ilott and Guanyu-Zhou have in fact signed the 4th and 5th times of the session, the two teams being only separated by the Brazilian Felipe Drugovich (MP Motorsport), 3rd (+0 »5).
As for the French teams, DAMS placed Dan Ticktum in 6th place, while the two ART Grand Prix drivers Christian Lundgaard and Marcus Armstrong are in a similar position and in that order in 9th and 10th position. Note that Giuliano Alesi (HWA Racelab) had to interrupt his session after only 5 minutes following a technical problem with his car. Qualifying will take place at 18 p.m. French time.
