David Malukas signs with Dale Coyne Racing

The 2021 Indy Lights runner-up, David Malukas, will move up to the next level in 2022. The 20-year-old driver was able to test the Dalla DW12 at Barber last October with Dale Coyne Racing; That’s good, he will stay in this stable in IndyCar in 2022.

“I followed David in Indy Lights and I was amazed by what I saw. He had a remarkable season and then impressed everyone when we tested him in October. It was his first time in an IndyCar car and he was the fastest in the test, even ahead of an experienced driver. And, on top of all that, he's from Chicago, so it's a perfect choice for us to lead David next season," said team owner Dale Coyne, whose shop is located an hour's drive from Chicago in Plainfield, Illinois.

Dale Coyne Racing takes advantage of this to form an association with the HMD Motorsports structure (from Indy Lights) in place of Vasser Sullivan. “ Having the HMD Motorsports name in IndyCar was a goal we set for ourselves several years ago and this is the first step in a global plan for the future,” explained Mike Maurini, general manager of HMD Motorsports.

“IndyCar is experiencing significant growth and HMD is able to step in at the right time for our drivers and partners. The goal is to continue winning in Indy Lights, expand and grow the business side of the business and advance drivers to IndyCar. »
