Rest assured,IndyCar is not about to leave Detroit. The organizing committee of the Grand Prix de Belle Isle has reached an agreement to extend its contract linking it to the series until 2024, we learned this Wednesday.
Still planned on the famous island of Belle Isle on the Detroit River, the Grand Prix could return to the city center, where the races were organized in the said city from 1982 to 1991, in the future. To mark the announcement of the extension of the agreement with IndyCar, the organizers of the meeting confirmed “ study the possibility » to return there in 2023.
