Sébastien Buemi (Renault e.dams) set the best time on the first day of testing for the Formula e in Donington Park (Great Britain). With a time of 1'30''143, the reigning champion was ahead of Nick Heidfeld (Mahindra Racing) by seven tenths and Lucas di Grassi (Audi Sport Abt) and Sam Bird (DS Virgin Racing) by eight tenths.
Jérôme d'Ambrosio (Faraday Future Dragon Racing), the fastest of the morning, took fifth place, being the first driver more than a second behind the reference time. The Belgian ranks ahead of Alex Lynn (Jaguar Racing) and Felix Rosenqvist (Mahindra Racing). Daniel Abt (Audi Sport Abt), Adam Carroll (Jaguar Racing) and José Maria Lopez (DS Virgin Racing) complete the top ten just ahead of Nicolas Cheers (Renault e.dams) and Loïc duval (Dragon Racing). Stéphane Sarrazin (Venturi Fe) finished 17th ahead of his teammate Maro Engel.
