FE – Nelson Piquet Jr champion

At the end of a suspenseful race, the Brazilian Nelson Piquet Jr (NEXTEV China Racing) saved the eighth place necessary to pocket the first Drivers' title awarded in Formula E at the end of the last race of the London final. Starting sixteenth, the former pilot F1 managed to move up the rankings to win this crown by one point ahead of the Swiss Sébastien Buemi (e.dams-Renault), fifth in the event won by Sam Bird (Virgin Racing) following the penalty inflicted on Stéphane Sarrazin (Venturi) who had nevertheless crossed the finish line in first position.
