Nick Heidfeld (Mahindra) set the best time in the second free practice session in Berlin in 1'08''070, 22 thousandths faster than his teammate Felix Rosenqvist in second position. Maro Engel (Venturi) was third, 0 seconds behind his compatriot.

Lucas Di Grassi (Abt Schaeffler) was 4e ahead of Stéphane Sarrazin (Techeetah) more than three tenths behind the leader.

Jean-Eric Vergne (Techeetah) was 8e before Sébastien Buemi (Renault e.dams). Loïc duval (Faraday Future Dragon Racing) was 13e right in front of Nicolas Cheers (Renault e.dams). Tom Dillmann (Venturi) was 18e and the first more than a second apart from Nick Heidfeld.
