Lotterer penalized for Berlin

André Lotterer received a ten-place grid penalty for the Berlin ePrix (Germany) held on May 19 for being responsible for the collision with Sam Bird (DS Virgin Racing) in the final corner of the race. Paris ePrix contested last Saturday.

If Sam Bird was able to reach the finish line in third place behind Jean-Éric Vergne (Techeetah) and Lucas di Grassi (Audi Sport Abt), the German from Techeetah fell to sixth place after losing his energy reserves. The former winner of 24 Hours of Le Mans suddenly joined the racing line, causing the collision with Sam Bird according to the stewards who nevertheless noted that the driver in question tried at the last moment to change his position on the track.

Techeetah was also fined €2500 for a pit stop by André Lotterer that was not carried out in a completely safe manner.
