Fourth under the checkered flag in Bern, Switzerland earlier in the afternoon, André Lotterer (DS Techeetah) was penalized after the finish for leaving the pit lane while the red light was on, in the process of a return to the pits when the red flag had been displayed following the incident at the first chicane in which the German had been involved.

Sanctioned with a drive-through, converted into a 22″ time penalty, Lotterer finally finished the Swiss meeting in 14th place, without scoring any points.

With this penalty, the drivers between Sam Bird (Virgin Racing), 5th at the finish, and Lucas di Grassi (Audi Sport ABT Schaeffler) all gain a place, Stoffel Vandoorne (HWA) entering the top 10.

Di Grassi also took the opportunity to once again become the closest pursuer of Jean-Eric Vergne (DS Techeetah), winner in Switzerland, in the championship, with 32 points behind before the final in New York in mid-July.
