The second free practice session of the day on Saturday at the New York ePrix saw the domination of Mitch Evans (Panasonic Jaguar Racing). The New Zealander completed a lap of the American track in 1’13”207, thus improving the first reference of Lucas di Grassi (Audi Sport ABT Schaeffler), established in FP1.
Jérôme d’Ambrosio (Dragon) finished second at 0″387 and ahead of one of the two contenders for the title, in the person of Sam Bird (DS Virgin Racing), 3rd at 0″420. José Maria Lopez (Dragon) follows in fourth position ahead of both Renault e.dams of Sébastien Buemi and Nicolas Cheers.
Championship leader, Jean-Eric Vergne (Techeetah) only sets the 14th fastest time at 1″3. Several drivers came into contact with the walls, notably Lucas di Grassi, but there were no interruptions.
Qualifying will begin at 17:30 p.m. French time.
