Indianapolis GP – The incredible comeback of Simon Pagenaud

On the wet and tricky track of Indianapolis, simon pagenaud achieved a flawless performance both on the track and in strategy to sign his best result of the season. Although he had to settle for second place behind Colton Herta, this place seemed very complex to reach after frustrating qualifying for the Frenchman.

On the starting grid, the Meyer Shank Racing driver was only in 20th place. “ I'm really proud of my team. Unfortunately, we haven't been able to show results, but the potential has been there from the start. So I'm really proud that today we were able to show off all the work that's been done behind the scenes by Mike Shank and everyone at Meyer Shank Racing », Explains Simon Pagenaud at a press conference after the Grand Prix.

The rain surprised many drivers on the tracks with many yellow flags. Simon Pagenaud made the right choices and very quickly caught up. “ I'm very grateful that INDYCAR lets us race. In these conditions, it shows a different set of skills. It's treacherous, but it's our job to go out and give our best »

« I think it's even more rewarding when it's stressful and you get yourself out of a sticky situation. So definitely one of my best races. » With this 2nd place, Simon Pagenaud returns to 11th place in the championship with 61 points behind the new leader, Will Power.
