The American, resident of the Andretti Autosport team, beat the Brazilian Helio Castroneves (Team Penske) and James Hinchcliffe (Andretti Autosport). Graham Rahal (Chip Ganassi) and Ryan Hunter-Reay (Andretti Autosport) complete the top 5. simon pagenaud (Sam Schmidt Motorsport) continues to perfect his learning of driving on ovals by setting the 17th fastest time of the day. Jean Alesi (Fan Force United) did not take part in this test session.
