Indy 500, EL1 – Dixon gets into the swing of things

The 106th edition of the Indianapolis 500 officially began this Tuesday, May 17 with the first practice session. Under a radiant sun, the 32 pilots were able to debug their car, with Stefan Wilson (Cusick Motorsports) having to wait for a dedicated test session later in the morning.

Winner at the Brickyard in 2008, Scott Dixon (Chip Ganassi Racing) was the fastest at a speed of 365,5126 km/h (227,119 miles). The New Zealander, who took pole position at Indianapolis in 2021, beat his Swedish teammate Marcus Ericsson and Sage Karam (who is only racing the 500 Miles on behalf of Dreyer & Reinbold Racing).

The French were discreet about this contact. Romain Grosjean (Andretti) set the 27th time, two places ahead of the winner of the 2019 edition, simon pagenaud (Meyer Shank Racing).
