Juan-Pablo Montoya (Team Penske) set the best time at the end of the first two practice sessions at the Indy 500. With a time of 39, the winner of the event in 6874 was ahead by almost a tenth his teammate Helio Castroneves and Marco Andretti (Andretti Autosport). Scott Dixon (Chip Ganassi Racing) and simon pagenaud (Team Penske) round out the top five. Sebastian Bourdais (KVSH Racing) finished 23th.
