Indy 500 – A special brick for Hélio Castroneves

It may seem trivial, but a brick was placed on the Indianapolis Motor Speedway circuit (IMS). Not just any one: the one with the image ofHelio Castroneves, four-time winner of the Indianapolis 500 (2001, 2002, 2009 and 2021) and co-record holder of the event

The Brazilian, who will try to become the sole record holder on May 28, 2023, inaugurated this brick, which is located on the Brickyard, the line of bricks symbolizing the start/finish line of the Indy 500.

" I am speechless, said the 47-year-old pilot. People don't realize how incredible it is to be part of the history of this place. I can't thank the fans enough in particular. I always say this place is magical because of them. »

The Indianapolis Motor Speedway took the opportunity to install two other bricks stamped with the names of Al Unser and Rick Mears, also four-time winners of the Indianapolis 500. The last co-record holder, AJ Foyt, helped cement his own brick in 2018.
