Ryan Hunter-Reay (Andretti Autosport – Honda) wins the 98th edition of the Indianapolis 500 ahead of Helio Castroneves (Team Penske – Chevrolet) and Marco Andretti (Andretti Autosport – Honda). This is the first victory for an American since 2006 and Sam Hornish Jr.
Sébastien Bourdais (KV Racing – Chevrolet) finished 7th behind Kurt Busch (Andretti Autosport – Honda) 6th and Juan-Pablo Montoya (Team Penske – Chevrolet) 5th. simon pagenaud (Schmidt Peterson Motorsports – Honda) took 12th and his teammate Jacques Villeneuve finished 14th.
