At a press conference today at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Beaux Barfield will officially be named Racing Director of theIndyCar, replacing Brian Barnhart. A former Indy Lights driver, Barfield served in this position from 2003 to 2007 in Champ Car, then for the last four seasons in ALMS. Its primary mission will be to rethink certain lines of the regulations. Because if several decisions of his predecessor were strongly criticized last season, the flexibility of a few points of the regulations contributed to these inconsistencies.
