After a first practice session dominated by simon pagenaud (Schmidt Motorsports-Honda) in Edmonton (1’16”5391), the times went down in the second session and the best time went to Helio Castroneves (Team Penske-Chevrolet) who achieved a time of 1’16”4920, 0”0027 ahead of Scott Dixon (Ganassi-Honda). Mike conway (AJ Foyt-Honda) and James Hinchcliffe (Andretti-Chevrolet) follow less than a tenth behind, while Alex Tagliani (BHA-Honda) completes the top five ahead of Dario Franchitti (Ganassi-Honda).
