Charlie Kimball (Ganassi) caused the first yellow flag in the opening race of the seasonIndyCar in the streets of St. Petersburg, Florida. Kimball's DW12 – Chevrolet went into the tire wall, but was eventually able to restart. Will Power (Penske) is still in the lead ahead of his teammate Helio Castroneves. Most of the drivers took the opportunity to return to the pits.
