Best time in EL1 on the road course of the Indianapolis Grand Prix, Will Power (Team Penske – Chevrolet) stood out again in EL3 this Friday afternoon by setting a record lap of the circuit in 1'09″318.
The 2014 champion is not the only one to have evolved below his best time achieved in 2015, since Juan Pablo Montoya (Team Penske – Chevrolet), simon pagenaud (Team Penske – Chevrolet) and Scott Dixon (Chip Ganassi Racing – Chevrolet) also lapped faster than the previously established record and complete the session's leading quartet.
Fifth, Takuma Sato (AJ Foyt Enterprises – Honda) ranks as the best representative of the Japanese engine manufacturer, while Sébastien Bourdais (KVSH Racing – Chevrolet) moved up to tenth position, 341 thousandths behind Power’s time. Qualifying will take place later today.
