Recent retiree from the world ofIndyCar, after his terrible accident in Houston last October, Dario Franchitti, four-time Indy champion, spoke today to the press at the Ganassi team headquarters.
“It’s a chance to have this little discussion and to be able to thank everyone for the support provided” said the three-time Indy 500 winner in 2007, 2010 and 2012. “It’s great to know that I was appreciated. Scotland is my country, but I will always be at home on a circuit in the United States. I have no regrets when I look at what I have accomplished during my career. » Regarding his future, Dario does not yet know what it will hold. “I would really like to stay involved in IndyCar and the Target team (Editor's note: sponsor of its No. 10 car). We make it happen. » He could also retrain as a consultant for an American channel. “But only if I commit 100%” adds the Scotsman. The former pilot also explained that he was recovering his physical strength day by day.
Tony Kanaan will replace him in the Ganassi team's #10 Target Chevrolet, while Ryan Briscoe will drive the #8 car. The other two drivers remain Scott Dixon, 2013 champion and Charlie Kimball.
