Scott Dixon (Chip Ganassi Racing) finished only a hundredth behind the Brazilian, while Will Power (Team Penske) finished a tenth behind Max Chilton (Chip Ganassi Racing) and simon pagenaud (Team Penske), the leader of the Championship. Sebastian Bourdais (KVSH racing) set the seventh fastest time behind Ryan Hunter-Reay (Andretti Autosport).
