Some competitors of theIndyCar Series are currently undergoing testing at Sebring. After setting the eighth time of the first session in 54??0134, 1??0 from the best time achieved by Helio Castroneves (Penske Racing), simon pagenaud increased the pace in the second. The Poitevin rider indeed lifted his Sam Schmidt Motorsports Dallara DW12-Honda to third place in the hierarchy with a time of 52??7311. Pagenaud finished third on this first day of testing behind Ryan Hunter-Reay and Helio Castroneves. Note that he was the only rookie on the track.
