IndyCar – Scott Dixon in the lead

New Zealander Scott (Chip Ganassi Racing – Chevrolet) was the fastest in the second free practice session on the Indianapolis road course. Author of a best time in 1'10" 697, the triple champion IndyCar ahead of the two DW12 – Chevrolet of Team Penske of Australian Will Power (outgoing champion) and Colombian Juan-Pablo Montoya.

Fastest driver in FP1, Frenchman Sébastien Bourdais (KV Racing – Chevrolet) finished 4th ahead of the Brazilian Helio Castroneves and French simon pagenaud (Team Penske). Seventh, Graham Rahal (Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing – Honda) ranks as the best Honda representative.

Note that the cars of Tony Kanaan (Chip Ganassi Racing) and Justin Wilson (Andretti Autosport – Honda) were equipped for these sessions with an LED device indicating the driver's position in real time. A solution that could be offered on all cars from the Indianapolis 500 miles testing on May 15 if the results of these tests are positive.
