Tristan Vautier (Schmidt Motorsports) once again finished at the top of the timesheet for his third test session, the second carried out at the Sonoma circuit. The reigning IndyLights champion achieved a time of 78”56 ahead of his compatriots Sébastien Bourdais (78 »63) and simon pagenaud (78 »90). Tony Kanaan (KV Racing Technology) finished the session with the fourth fastest time (79”0) while Oriol Servia (Panther DRR) completed the top five (79”2). Sebastian Saavedra (Dragon Racing) is sixth (79”5) ahead of KV Racing driver Simona de Silvestro (79”8). Panther Racing driver JR Hildebrand (79”9) and Ed Carpenter (80”1) completed the times.
