Scott Dixon (Chip Ganassi Racing) was the fastest in the first practice session of theIndyCar at Texas Motor Speedway. The five-time champion was half a tenth ahead of Takuma Sato (RLL Racing), while Graham Rahal (RLL Racing) followed a tenth behind Charlie Kimball (Carlin) and Will Power (Team Penske) completed the Top 5.
The French were further behind in this session shortened by half an hour due to the rain. Sebastian Bourdais (Dale Coyne Racing) placed 11th while simon pagenaud (Team Penske) finished 16th.
