The two drivers from the Chip Ganassi team, Scott Dixon and Dario Franchitti, monopolize the lead of the race (46th lap). Tagliani appears to be having difficulty with his front end and has slipped to 4th behind Dan Wheldon. Three former Indy 500 winners are in the top three spots.
