The second free practice session for the Grand Prix of Long Beach (California) saw the two Australians from Team Penske compete for the best time. For once, Ryan Briscoe was the fastest (1'10"7403) ahead of Will Power at 0"14 and Ryan Hunter-Reay at 0"25. Sebastian Bourdais (Dale Coyne Racing) set the 16th fastest time.
