At the end of a difficult season in GP3 with Carlin (18th), Josef Newgarden returns to the United States. The American has indeed found refuge in Indy Lights within the workforce of Sam Schmidt Motorsport, the former team of Jean-Karl Vernay based in Indianapolis. He will team up with Esteban Guerrieri, also from Europe where he shone in FR 3.5 with ISR.
