Accidented last night in qualifying at Pocono (Pennsylvania), Ryan Hunter-Reay (Andretti Autosport – Honda) was taken to hospital for additional examinations. After undergoing a CT scan and an MRI, injuries to his left hip and knee were treated and the American pilot was released from the hospital immediately, but must still undergo a new medical evaluation this Sunday before receiving the green light for tonight's race.
Hunter-Reay as well as Helio Castroneves (Team Penske – Chevrolet) violently hit the wall of the Tricky Triangle in Pocono yesterday in qualifying.
