Jean-Karl Vernay, leader of the championship car American d?Indy Lights, antechamber of the?IndyCar Series, will start on pole for the Carneros 100 at Infineon Raceway in Sonoma. The Frenchman was the fastest in qualifying, ahead of Charlie Kimball by four hundredths. His rival James Hinchcliffe will start third.
