One of the trucks from the Andretti Autosport team, notably transporting the car n°88 of Colton Herta, unfortunately caught fire on the road leading to St Petersburg in Florida, scene of the opening of the 2020 season of IndyCar Series this weekend.

More fear than harm since no one was injured in the incident. As Michael Andretti’s team further confirmed, “At this time, the damage to car 88 appears minor and cosmetic, caused by heat, smoke and/or water. We currently have no reason to believe that any mechanical aspects of Car 88 have been damaged or compromised. »

The American team has already sent additional equipment from its base in Indianapolis, with the Indy Lights team also potentially being mobilized to provide the necessary support.
