After dominating free practice, Tristan Vautier took pole position on the Trois-Rivières circuit for the penultimate round of the 2012 IndyLights season. The Frenchman from Sam Schmidt Motorsports set his best lap in 57”139 to beat Carlos Munoz (Andretti Autosport AFS Racing) by 0”056 and Gustavo Yacaman (Team Moore Racing) by 0”213. Esteban Guerrieri (Sam Schmidt Motorsports), who leads the championship, will start in fourth position.
