Japan will be in the spotlight at Nissan in 2023. Following the acquisition of e.dams at the end of the 2022 season, the Japanese manufacturer wanted to strengthen its identity with inspirations from the land of the Rising Sun. The black present on the Gen2 will give way to white and pink, with branches and cherry blossoms which stand out against the light background of the car. Red, the symbol of Nissan, will remain the primary color on the e-4ORCE 04, the name chosen for this new Gen3 car.

“We have a long history in racing, and we also like to dare to do what others don't, said Ashwani Gupta, Nissan's chief operating officer. Our new livery celebrates our Japanese heritage and I'm sure the design will stand out on the track like never before. I'm really looking forward to the season, and I'm confident we have everything we need to make the start of the Gen3 era a very successful one for us at Nissan. »

“We wanted to create something totally different and unique for this season to mark such an important moment for us in Formula E, but also celebrate our Japanese DNA, explained Tommaso Volpe, director of the Japanese team. The upcoming season is a big moment for the championship with the introduction of the Gen3 single-seaters. But it is also important for us, with the team which will race under its new name following our complete takeover of all Formula E activities. At Nissan, we are all very enthusiastic for this new start, very motivated to take on this new challenge, and very impatient to get started. »

As a reminder, Nissan will hire a 100% French line-up in 2023 with the arrival of Sacha Fenestraz and Norman Nato, replacing Sébastien Buemi and Maximilian Gunther. The two Habs will aim to bring Nissan back to the top after a very disappointing 2022 season (9th, with 36 points). They will be on track in Valencia for pre-season testing, from December 11 to 14.
