After Richard Verschoor on Wednesday, it is the turn of Jack Doohan (Virtuosi) to take the lead in the standings during the 2nd day of post-season testing of Formula 2, in Abu Dhabi. On the Yas Marina circuit, the Australian set the best time on Thursday morning in 1'35″990. The academy pilot Alpine, who took the wheel of the A522 during Free Practice for the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix last Friday, beat Jehan Daruvala (MP Motorsport) and Ayumu Iwasa (DAMS) by almost two tenths.

French side, Theo Pourchaire (ART GP) is the best classified with an 8th time (+0″378). The Formula 2 runner-up was the most active driver on track with 103 laps covered, tied with Juan Manuel Correa (Van Amersfoort Racing). Victor Martins (ART GP) and Clément Novalak (Trident) set the 11th and 12th times respectively, while Isack Hadjar (Hitech) set the 18th time. Upset by a mechanical problem the day before, the pilot of the Red Bull Junior Team was able to grind the asphalt all day with 100 laps under its belt. Arthur Leclerc finished just ahead of the Frenchman, in 17th place.
