For his big debut in Formula 2, Van Amersfoort Racing decided to trust the Briton Jake Hughes. An experienced driver aged 27, the Birmingham native has already competed in ten Formula 2 races (2 in 2020, 8 in 2021) with HWA Racelab, which rightly left its place to the Dutch structure founded by Fries Van Amersfoort.
British F4 champion eight years ago now, Jake Hughes spent five seasons in Formula 3 (GP3/F3 Europe/FIA F3) with a 5th place as the best final ranking in 2017. This year the young man will have the opportunity to logically spend the entire season in the antechamber of the F1 for the first time in his career.
