The HWA RACELAB team has announced the return of Jake Hughes for Monza this weekend. The Briton replaces his compatriot Jack Aitken, who has not yet sufficiently recovered from his various injuries (a broken collarbone, a fractured vertebra and a pulmonary contusion) caused by his accident at the 24 Hours of Spa (July 31-August 1) with Emil Frey Racing. At 27, Hughes spent two years with the Formula 3 of HWA, achieving three victories and eight podiums in 2019 and 2020, and has already had the opportunity to ride in F2 last season, in Sochi.

“I am delighted to be reunited with HWA RACELAB for the FIA F2 championship at Monza”, Hughes said. “I really enjoyed my first time in F2 in Sochi last year with the team and I can’t wait to return this weekend. I managed to get a win here in 2020 with the HWA RACELAB team in F3, so I'm confident we can do another good job together this weekend despite the lack of preparation! I would like to say a big thank you to everyone at HWA RACELAB for once again trusting me and letting me participate. »
