Arrived in IndyCar in 2011 at Newman/Haas Racing, James Hinchcliffe leaves the American series after ten years on the circuits. After his inaugural season, the Canadian driver drove for three seasons with Andretti from 2012 to 2014 before moving to Schmidt Peterson Motorsports until 2019. Author of six victories, 18 podiums and a pole position in his career, he returned to Andretti for three races in 2020 and a final full season this year. He will be replaced in 2022 by Devlin DeFrancesco.

“With a decade of memories, I am very happy to announce that I am stepping away from full-on IndyCar time, he shared on his Twitter account. This is not a decision taken lightly, and it was made with the full support of my family and closest supporters. There are many reasons, personal and professional, for this, but I think the time has come. This does not mean that I am retiring from competition! This decision leaves me free to turn to other disciplines and explore other interests or opportunities. »

Passionate about the history of motorsport across all disciplines, I learned to read thanks to AUTOhebdo. At least that's what my parents tell everyone when they see my name inside!
