Jamie Chadwick prepares for his future outside the W Series. The double reigning champion of the 100% women's category, very well placed to win the championship for a third time this season, will test an Indy Lights car with Andretti Autosport on September 3, at Sebring. Aboard a Dallara IL21, Jamie Chadwick will have his first experience across the Atlantic. “I want to have the opportunity to continue to progress and America seems to be a really positive place”, she told Sky Sports on the sidelines of the Dutch Grand Prix on Friday.

The American dream for Chadwick?

Member of the academy Williams, the young 24-year-old driver is considering the rest of her career after the W Series, which she has dominated since the first season in 2019. “It’s just a test at the moment, we’re still evaluating options, but fortunately Andretti came at the right time and I’m really looking forward to it.”, added the English champion.

“We are excited to give him an opportunity, said Rob Edwards, Andretti's director of operations, to our colleagues at RACER. She is clearly the dominant driver in the W Series. In our opinion, she deserves a chance to make this happen for the next stage of her career. »

The Indy Lights program, which has produced drivers like Colton Herta, Pato O'Ward and Kyle Kirkwood in recent years, could be a golden opportunity for Jamie Chadwick, “She is a candidate for a place in Indy Lights for next year,” said Rob Edwards. After several unsuccessful experiments in Formula 3 and in Formula Regional, the Briton's career could experience a revival in the United States.
