Jüri Vips (DAMS) started his third weekend perfectly in Formula 2. The Estonian actually set the best time in free practice for the Tuscan Grand Prix at Mugello. The pilot Red Bull ahead of Luca Ghiotto (Hitech, +0 »089), who has regained competitiveness since his team changed almost all the parts on his car. Felipe Drugovich, 3rd (+0 »231), completes the podium.

As usual, the first quarter of an hour was an opportunity to see the drivers try out fast laps to prepare for qualifying at 17 p.m. this Friday, while the last half hour was devoted to long stints, to judge the tire degradation on a track that not many people knew. Jack Aitken (Campos) went out at the end of the session after a wheel lock and ended up in the gravel.

DAMS managed to place its two drivers in the Top 5 since Dan Ticktum set the 5th best time. In the race for the title, although almost everyone seems to be a candidate, Yuki tsunoda (Carlin) was the fastest with a 4th place. Behind, the first three in the championship finished in a group shot, with Schumacher (Prema, 12th), Shwartzman (Prema, 13th) and Ilott (UNI-Virtuosi, 14th), all at 0”9.
