Formula E has announced the start of a partnership with a new tire supplier, ending its collaboration with Michelin.

The relationship between the Formula E and Michelin which had lasted since the first season in 2014. This Wednesday, the electric championship has in fact confirmed the start of the partnership with Hankook which will now be the new technical partner and exclusive supplier of the FE.

The new tire named Hankook iON was developed in “ close collaboration » with the series and « particularly aims to meet the sustainability needs of Formula E and the future of e-mobility, without compromising motorsport performance."

Note that 30% of the Hankook iON, specially adapted to the 3e generation of Formula E single-seaters, is made of durable materials. Like its predecessor, the new tire will be used for both dry and wet conditions. to save more resources. » After each race weekend, all sets of tires will be fully recycled.
