January 18 marked the deadline for the approval of the aerodynamic kits developed by Honda and Chevrolet which will be offered this year in IndyCar. “We have achieved several important milestones: the track testing phase, which was in some ways the culmination, the tunnel and analysis phases, then the approval, which we presented a few days earlier, said Chris Berube, Chevrolet IndyCar program manager. We are in the middle of the production phase, which is a very important stage, with serious deadlines to meet. The teams are all waiting to receive their kits. »

Honda specifies for its part that the changes will be very significant. “This involves many hours of research before the first pieces are created. We believe we have developed a very competitive package for our teams, and we look forward to going head-to-head on the track against Chevrolet. » concludes Steve Eriksen, vice president of HPD.

The 2015 kits will be on track in St Petersburg, Florida (March 27-29). The season will begin in Brasilia on March 8.
