Long Beach, EL1 – O'Ward in the running, Grosjean in the top 5
The third round of the 2023 seasonIndyCar takes place in the streets of Long Beach (Florida). Pato O'Ward (Arrow McLaren) achieved the best time in the first free practice session, Friday April 14.
The first 21 drivers are held in less than a second. Romain Grosjean (Andretti), 2nd in 2022, recorded the 5th best time, while simon pagenaud (Meyer Shank Racing) is 18th.
“It’s a very tight field,” O’Ward said. “Qualifying in Long Beach is always very intense. We continued to fight today. We started strong, but we made adjustments to get the car a little more in the right operating window, a little more adapted to the characteristics of this circuit and what I like. So far so good. »
