Mexico – EL1: Lotterer leads the tests

For this second round of the season Formula E, the competitors find themselves in Mexico. After starting in Diriyah in Saudi Arabia, the cars set off on the Mexico circuit where André Lotterer (Porsche) stood out.

After the first thirty minutes of free practice, it was the German André Lotterer who stood out with the best time of the session with a time of 1'07″509 on his Porsche. His closest pursuers, Sébastien Buemi (Nissan e-Dams) and Pascal Wehrlein (Porsche) finished less than 2 tenths behind. On the French side, Jean-Éric Vergne (DS Techeetah) ranked 10th, almost half a second behind the time reference for these EL1s.

Rookies for this 2021/2022 season, Antonio Giovinazzi (Dragon Penske) and Dan Ticktum (NIO 333) were respectively ranked 18th and 21st. The Italian managed to finish less than a second behind André Lotterer while the Englishman dropped more than 1″5 on the German. A few ski trips were noted during this session, but no damage was reported.
