Carl Edwards (Joe Gibbs Racing) scored his first pole of the season at New Hampshire Motor Speedway where he had never won a qualifying session. The pilot of the Toyota #19 clocked 28 on the one-mile oval to beat Joey Logano (Team Penske), David Ragan (Michael Waltrip Racing), Kyle Busch and Denny Hamlin (Joe Gibbs Racing).
