Nato with a helmet tribute to Bianchi for the Monaco E-Prix

For the Monaco E-Prix, Norman Nato will wear the same helmet design as that used by Jules Bianchi in 2014. A symbolic tribute to the circuit where the late French driver scored his first points in Formula 1.

A moving and highly symbolic tribute. Norman Nato will sport a special helmet for the Monaco E-Prix on Saturday. The design takes up the codes of the helmet that Jules Bianchi used during the 2014 season of Formula 1. A well-chosen nod, since the late French driver, who died in July 2015 after his accident during the 2014 Japanese Grand Prix, had scored his first and only points in Formula 1 in Monaco.

On this helmet, various images retrace the career of the late French pilot and the strong friendship between Norman Nato and Jules Bianchi at the time. The two friends met at the age of 8 and became best friends, on and off the track. Norman Nato was also one of the pilots who carried Jules Bianchi's coffin to his funeral.

Several winks are also present on the Nissan driver's helmet in Formula E. The number 17, now inseparable from Jules Bianchi, is present on the top of the helmet as well as a message “We miss you Julio” (“We miss you Julio”).

Still looking for his first podium of the season, Norman Nato hopes to shine in Monaco to pay tribute to his friend. The Frenchman, who returned to the Riviera circuit two years after his last participation in Formula E, has already won in the streets of the Principality: it was in 2014, in Formula Renault 3.5.
